Junior Farmer Program

Cornell Co-Op Extension program for kids

The Junior Farmer Program is a hands-on event sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program, the Whipple Foundation and Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster. Children ages 6 – 10 will have an opportunity to learn what life is like as a farmer, they will learn about livestock and farm animals, explore careers in agriculture, help groom horses, meet with veterinarians, collect eggs, and feed the pigs. The program will culminate with a hayride and Harvest Party.

Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The non-refundable fee is $65 for 4-H members and $85 for non-members. A paid registration fee will guarantee participation. This event meets every Tuesday for 6 weeks from 4:30 to 6 p.m. beginning on May 1st. Please note: a parent or guardian must accompany the child throughout the time at Tilly Foster Farm.
