A 30-year-old Yonkers man died Monday following a high speed crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley.

State Police Troop K Major Michael Kopy identified the victim as Luigi Aiezza, 30.

According to the Major, Aiezza's pick up truck went out of control at 9:45 a.m. while heading southbound in the vicinity of Route 301 and rolled over several times ejecting the lone occupant.

Kopy said that witnesses reported observing the speeding vehicle moments before it left the pavement, flipped over and landed in a wooded area.

Emergency responders from the Kent and Putnam Valley Fire Departments were summoned. EMTs and a paramedic called for a medivac helicopter due to the extensive trauma received by the driver.

Aiezza was airlifted to the Westchester Medical Center where he died a short time later.
