Adding to the excitement, a shiny red 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP, valued at $275,000, was parked near the flagpole on the grounds and was also a hit with car lovers young and old.
According to Dan Hughes, president of the Booster Club, Anne Dinio, the business manager for the district, was the inspiration for the Car Show. “Anne’s friends are involved with Lomotion Auto in Poughkeepsie, a custom car showroom and service shop that specializes in high-performance cars. They have a network of car owners who they can contact to support charity car shows in the community,” he explained. “Anne thought it might be a good idea for fundraising for our club.”
Lomotion donated the funds for the DJ and the trophies for the big event. The “Car Show Favorite” trophy was awarded to a 2008 candy apple red Mustang Cerzini GT. At the end of the day, Hughes said, “We thank Lomotion for making this car show possible. They got out the word to the car owners, who showed up big time for us. We also thank all of the volunteers who worked so hard to raise funds for our Blue Devils sports teams today.”
