John A. Turco
Visitation Wednesday, Funeral Thursday
Born in Mt. Holly, Vermont, on September 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Carl and Rose (Scambatti) Turco. He was the widower of the late Mary Josephine (Prestianni) Turco, who predeceased him in 1994.
Mr. Turco was the retired Supervisor/Chief Electrician at the Tampa Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa, Fla., retiring in 1981. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church, a Navy Veteran serving two enlistments in both WW II and the Korean Conflict, a 50-year member of the Cold Spring Fire Company #1, Past Commander of both George A. Casey Post # 275 American Legion and James Harvey Hustis Post # 2362 Veterans of Foreign War, and a member of the Philipstown Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane M. McConville, and her husband, R.T. McConville; two brothers, George Turco of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Salvatore Turco of New Port Richie, Fla. Three grandchildren, Megan, Alex, and Katie, also survive. Predeceasing him was his son, John G. Turco, in 1983 and eight brothers and sisters.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 12, at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair Street Cold Spring.
Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Cold Spring Cemetery. The family will receive their friends at the Clinton Funeral Home, corner of Parrott and Pine Streets (21 Parrott Street) Cold Spring, on Wednesday, July 11, from 5 to 8 p.m.
