Richard P. Irish

Richard P. Irish, age 72, a longtime resident of Garrison, died on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center, New York, N.Y.

Born September 26, 1940, in Malone, N.Y., he was the son of the late James H. and Kathryne (Venter) Irish.

Mr. Irish was an iron worker with Iron Workers Local #46 in New York City, retiring in 2000. A 55-year area resident, he was also an associate member of the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys “Cooky” (Trocheck) Irish in 1994. Mr. Irish is survived by two sons, Kyle M. and Bozena Irish of Garrison, and Keith R. Irish of Yonkers; one daughter, Kelley A. and David Mulholland of Marlboro, NY; and one brother, Gerald “Joe” and Katherine Irish of Garrison. Three grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard, and Ashley, and three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Kaydene, and Emma, also survive him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, at 10 a.m. at the Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street (Cor. of Parrott & Pine Sts) Cold Spring, NY 10516, followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 11th, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Irish’s name to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087-7106, or visit www.mskcc.org.
