Delicy Elizabeth Pinckney Allen

Delicy Elizabeth Pinckney Allen, 88, formerly of Fonda, NY, and Cold Spring, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born in Bethel, Ct., on February 24, 1924, to Clarence and Ida Mae Smith Pinckney, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Ernest “Brud” Allen.

Although her family will miss her, they find peace in knowing that she is happy to be reunited with Brud in heaven.

Delicy was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group and the American Legion Auxiliary in Cold Spring.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Dolan and husband Robert of Wallkill, NY, and son, Earl “Butch” Allen of North Blenheim, NY. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, December 29, at Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY, with Rev. Christopher Hamm presiding.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY 12072. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Methodist Church, PO Box 577 Modena, NY 12548.
