Barbara M. Dade

Barbara M. Dade, 81, of Cold Spring, has died from her battle with mold poisoning. Barbara, the former Children’s Librarian at the Butterfield Memorial Library, died Wednesday April 17, 2013, in the ICU of Hudson Valley Hospital, in Cortlandt Manor.

Born in Cold Spring on February 18, 1932, she was the daughter of Robert Mooney (mayor of Cold Spring during WW II) and Margite (Seeley) Mooney.

Barbara loved going to drag races—helping Bob to show his record-holding race car— and Civil War shows. Bob is an antique dealer specializing in Civil War items and Barbara was working on a book about John S. Mosby.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place.
