Memorial Day Weekend Schedule

9 a.m. Monday, May 27 – Memorial Day Parade starts promptly at 9 a.m. at the Municipal Building, Main Street, Cold Spring.

All Philipstown veterans, residents, their families and friends are invited to participate in the parade, either by marching or gathering along the parade route for the special Memorial Services at our local monuments and cemeteries.

Grand Marshal for the parade this year will be William Baxter, Korean War Veteran. Assistant Grand Marshal will be Edward Engelbride, stationed in Germany. Guest speaker for the Memorial Day Service will be Lt. Colonel David Keppel, Haldane graduate. The Cold Spring Trolley will be available for Senior Citizens who would like to ride in the parade.

May 22, 23, and 24 – In preparation for Memorial Day, veterans are placing 1,000 American Flags on all veterans’ graves in the Cold Spring Cemetery.

11 a.m. Sunday, May 26 – There will be a special Memorial Service at the Parrott Gun Memorial located at the waterfront in the village of Cold Spring All members of the Philipstown Community are invited to attend.

As usual the Memorial Day Parade and the Parrott Gun Memorial Service will be held rain or shine.
